Network Function Virtualization (NFV) has already moved from a mere hype to an industry trend. Nevertheless there is a lot of work to do in order to get the thing up and running. Carriers have to orchestrate a complex environment consisting of a plethora of technologies as well as of newly to be defined operational processes.
The presentation gives an overview on the goals of Telekom Deutschland to be reached with the technological conversion during the next decade. This conversion will as much as possible be based on OpenSource SW in which OpenStack is one of the major pillars.
Stephan is Senior Project Manager within the engineering department of Deutsche Telekom Technik. As Program Manager, he is responsible for the Network Function Virtualization program within Technik Deutschland.
